I pouted while Shiro grinned triumphantly, standing across from me. I pulled out my pokéballs to quickly call back my dazed Crustle (which I nicknamed Crusty Crab, CC for short). I couldn’t help but feel a little disappointed…
Especially because he took out my entire team while I couldn’t take out even one of his Pokémon.
“Well…” Aimee began, “You tried your hardest.” Shiro then reached me, patting me on the back.
“I’m sure you’ll do better next time.” Aimee frowned at his attitude while I nodded.
“Yeah… maybe.” To be honest, battling Shiro was the most random thing, Shiro just challenged me out of nowhere (part of me assumed Aimee made him a bet or something). At the least we had our battle right in front of the Avira Town Pokémon Center… where Mika was currently working. So it wasn’t like I had to go a great distance to get care. The doors slid open as per usual, and I could see the Pokémon Center wasn’t busy. I pulled my headband, before noticing someone standing at the front desk.
A nurse wearing blue with her light brown hair bundled into a pony tail. She was smiling towards another trainer, offering them their Pokéballs back.
“Thank you so much.” The guy thanked her, while Mika simply smiled.
“Well, it’s my job.” She grinned, waving as the trainer walked away. I found myself frozen to the ground, holding my pokéballs in my hand. She was going to be disappointed, I just knew it. She was going to be saying I hadn’t been taking good care of my Pokémon, of CC.
And she’d be right… at first I was about to turn away, when she then waived to me, smiling.
“Hey Tooru.” Mika grinned, the pink blush that pasted my cheeks grew even brighter. I gulped, before taking a few steps forward, “I saw bits of your battle with Shiro earlier,” she smiled, I breathed.
“Oh, you um… did?”
“Yeah… I’m sorry you didn’t win, but… maybe next time?”
“Yeah, I… I think maybe.” I shrugged, she nodded.
“Good, you gotta keep trying.” She then held her hands out, “Now let me take care of those, okay?” I nodded, quickly handing my Pokémon over to her. “They’ll be up and running in no time.” She grinned as she delicately placed my Pokéballs in a nearby machine. Within seconds my Pokémon were healed. She grinned as she returned the balls back to me, this time out from around the counter. She offered me my pokeballs, quickly placing them in my hand.
“Now you treat ‘em well, okay?” she then asked, I blushed, nodding as I stumbled to make sure I didn’t drop any of them, “You’ve done well so far.” I smiled at that, as Mika blushed slightly, quietly pressing her lips to me cheek. I froze instantly, cheeks burning pink. She the grinned and returned to her station, while I found myself hurrying out of the Pokemon Center…
The first thing I did the moment I got outside was approach Shiro.
“Hey Tooru, how are”-
“I wanna battle again.”
