Surprise AU! Just something I've been working with Quentin for a couple of months and decided to bring it up for Valentine's Day. Sooner or later you will get a full chibi picture with everybody in this AU.

Josa is a non alchemist Sergeant in the State Military of Amestris. Kimi is a new class of Homonculus.

The phone trembled in my hand as I sat at my couch with the file, Dai’s voice was on the other end. I was in my apartment, in South City.

“Are you sure it’s the file that went missing?” He asked me.

“Pretty sure, it specifies Führer Kalros… I haven’t taken a closer look yet because it’s sealed with an alchemic lock, but this might be what that crazy wind scythe alchemist was looking for.”

“Okay then, I’ll come over and I’ll make sure it gets to Colonel Kato… be careful.”

“You too, Dai.” I ended the call, sighing before wiping my brow. This alchemist had staged a terrorist attack in Central City, going after the archive. We figured out what file she was going after, but it was missing… only for me to discover it hidden in the Southern Archive.

Regardless, Colonel Kato was handling the case and having us look into it… like he was tipped off by something.

As for locating the enemy alchemist, the job was being put squarely in Aimee and Shiro’s hands.

I sat awkwardly for a few minutes facing the file, wanting to try and open it, despite the fact only Dai or an alchemist could do so. As I sat, the door open, to which I assumed it was Dai, he did have the key after all.

“That was fast of you.” I replied, hearing my voice crack, “Sorry if I’m on edge, I just don’t understand… What could Führer Queen Kalros have done to warrant this kind of attack?”

“You’d be surprised what someone could do to get on your military’s naughty list.” A sudden voice replied, and I paused, seeing a slim figure in my doorway. A girl, eyes on mine with a cheeky grin. Her eyes were a bright blue color and hair an ashen blonde. She wore these feather-like earrings, meshing well with her dark sleeveless jacket lined with fur… Kimi Nishi, a known deviant.

I had actually seen Kimi before, walking around on the streets and greeting me… but this was extremely out of the ordinary.

“Kimi?”

“Hey there Josa.” She smiled, and then I looked to her hand, noticing a change in shape, it looked like a sharp key… and it twisted, molding into putty and then into a hand.

I panicked, grabbing the file and grabbing for the phone, when her hand shot out, sharp tendrils of whatever etched towards me and I winced. My eyes opened to find she had instead cut the cord of the telephone… I dropped the handle, holding the file closer.

“Please sit down.” She replied, and I heaved.

“You’re a… a”-

“A homunculus, yes.” I blinked. “Give me the file.” She ordered, and I refused.

“No, I can’t do that.” She stepped closer, blue eyes on mine, looking so calm and collected. It didn’t help how incredibly attractive I found her to be, “You’ll just have to k-kill me!” I replied, not even sure what I was saying.

“You sound like my brother, he just said to kill you… but I would never do such a thing to my favorite human.” I blushed.

“Y-you’re favorite?”

“Yes,” she smiled, even closer to me now… and my cheeks were burning, unable to do anything. I was smitten with her, and she was playing on it... “You humans are so simple, I knew that once, when I was one…”

“You were one?” She smiled.

“You think that file is important… but it’s not, I’m just here to get it so your superiors to get a paper cut over what they think they’re reading.”

“What’s in it? Why do you and your people care so much about”-

“Who cares? I don’t… do you?” I looked down, “The Führer has secrets, some a little embarrassing probably, like most humans. I’m sure you can empathize. And even if I did know, I can’t deal insider secrets.” She shrugged,

“Well, when you put it that way.” She grinned, grabbing the folder from my hand, I blushed when she touched me, I noticed a redness in her face as well. She looked like she wanted to do something, but instead she turned away. Maybe she didn’t have the time.

“Thanks hon, I’ll be sure to visit you again some time… don’t tell your friend about me, ‘kay?” I blinked profusely. And she stepped towards the exit, winking towards me. “Ciao.” And she left, walking away and leaving me alone in silence.

Confused out of my mind, I sat there, dumbfounded for a few minutes. Then I heard a bang, like the door shot open and Dai appeared, worried.

“Your lock’s broken, I thought that…” and then he paused, eying me, confused.

“I’m fine Dai.” I hesitated, making sure to not smile.

“What happened, where’s the file?”

“A burglar took it!” I yelled, “I think they might have worked with the Strikers!” Dai scowled, alchemic gloves stroking up and down his arms.

“What did the burglar look like?”

“I don’t know, it was too dark!” I lied, “It was some kind of cat burglar… a beautiful cat burglar” I muttered under my breath.

“What?”

“Nothing.”
