I was trying to find Pokémon to draw that aren't extremely popular. Not something like Eevee, Pikachu, Charizard, Jigglypuff, etc. They're cute and all, but it's kinda a crowded subject to go into.Bug pokémon in general are neglected. Water/Bug pokémon are neglected further still. Surskit's a cute bug. And Surskit is based off of water striders, fun little bugs that live in streams, like near where I grew up.

You're right, Surskit doesn't get drawn enough! >_< Whenever I ask people for suggestions they always suggest popular Pokémon like Umbreon or Blaziken - neglected ones need to be drawn more!

Seriously. xD As cool as Umbreon is, there's just so much fanart of it already that it's extremely difficult to do something original enough with it.

Too true, too true! I love Umbreon as a Pokémon, but he's been overdrawn so much it's impossible to think of an original pose! XD Same with the other Eons, though I do love them and draw pics of them ^^
