This piece caught my eye immediately, it's not only striking but technically fantastic. The focus is spot on, perfectly hitting the top of the plant and not spilling unnecessarily over onto other parts. This draws one's eye directly without being distracted by other parts of the plant due to unnecessary focusing, so well done for that. The colours are visually beautiful, perfectly saturated so not to appear over/under-powerering compared to the other pieces of the succulent. You have handled this very well, either through adjusting it well whilst taking the photo or through post-production, so congratulations again. The only nit I have to pick with this photo is the brightness/exposure. With a piece of this sort, a bright piece of nature, I feel it should be more of just that, bright, because, although the piece on a whole is brilliant it's just a little dark. This could have been intentional or an accident but I feel it could have been edited in post-production slightly. But overall, like I have said previously, this is a very impressive piece, wonderfully executed, so well done and, judging by your other pieces, I will expect lots of many more amazing pieces from you.
I hope you found this critique helpful and I'm sure you'll go far. e.deviantart.net/emoticons/s/sā¦ " width="15" height="15" alt="" title=" (Smile)"/>

Love the color mainly.. but this picture has great depth of field, the only thing that I can say that I don't like is the photographers tag.. it just seems a little big for this picture and a little distracting but in that same aspect.. I cant read what it says.. although my monitor hasn't been calibrated and that may be an issue on my end.
hope this helps..

I have to be honest with this one, it just seems to plain. Nothing about it really catches my eye. Green is a really plain color when your talking about plaints. And though the photo it's self dose seem nicely done I think this is the kind of thing that you would have been better off not talking a picture of at all.
Overall I would say that your photo work here is nice. But I don't understand why you took a picture of this at all. However that's just my personal opinion, take it for what it's worth.

No problem, if you like it then that's all that matters.

As has been said in previous comments, the image could do with lightening. I love the light spots though, they create a bit of texture and bring some life to the plant. Maybe you could try deviating from centering the focal point to help the viewer's eye travel through the image.

Beautiful shot, but I think maybe some parts are a little too dark. Maybe lighten those up and you have the perfect, stunning shot! Good job.

First of all: I believe you took the right focus.
However, I think I have a little problem with the lightning, was it taken at a sunset or with fake light? Maybe flash? Anyways.. it gives me an unnatural feeling...like the picture is not taken at some normal day, maybe because of the light spots which are a little disturbing. Because of that, it is difficult to create a balanced background also, while the focus is 100% ok, it seems that the rest of the plant is between sharp and blur... hmm difficult to explain. Maybe it would be a better picture if you didn't see the rest of the plant, but took the picture from another point of view...it doesn't matter how, as long the background would be more blur/bokeh/whatever you prefer.
But it is still a nice picture, I do like the framing too! And all of that with ''just'' a powershot camera, I have to say you really did a great job!
