New Mandalore: A duchy recognized by the Republic as the official government of the Mandalorians. Established century's ago after the Clans where defeated by the Republic yet again, to hopefully introduce civilization.
Despite the legitimacy of their rule the class system introduced as a results led to resentment as who qualified as a warrior became a volatile subject, leading to Civil War and the pacifist movement taking power.
Independent Mandalorians: Comprised of the clans who refused to recognize the Republic established Duchy to continue wandering the stars in search of worthy battles. Though not as numerous as New Mandalore,
(both maintain they are the True Mandalorians, and refuse to recognize the other faction as being such) they are more united. By respecting their fellow Independents even if they come to blows, with every members role in battle is considered vital, as per the guidance of their leader Mandalore any rivalry is quickly settled.
Their nomadic ways are not without downsides. Many clans, for example the one led by Jaster Mureel and later Jango Fett, risk being wiped out by a crushing defeat, without a stable settlement to re-populate their numbers.
Forcing the survivors to became mercenary's, or plead for the aide of the duchy, which few due.
