The detail on the wall is amazing. I love how the girl draws your attention to the door, however there is so much more to the photograph than her. All of the detail and the lighting is amazing.

This may sound odd considering that the woman is the main figure in this piece, but I must say I am far more enchanted by the abused building...what is this, an ancient prayer home or a mere village house? I would have just loved to explore and to feel the damaged and raw rocks and most likely would have sat there imagining who had once lived there and thought before...a beautiful place for composing poetry and unleashing ones inner pain to the ancient and empty ghosts...oh damn I just written an entire novel.

Allright here's the deal; It's an old Monastry, The Moonlight Monastry probably left to its fate around 70-80 years ago. There were some Greek people living in this Aegean Island. After the war The Greeks had to move to Greece (but they were more Turkish than Greek) and The Turks (also they were more Greek then Turk) living in Girit had to move to Turkey. Thats a so sad story. So there are many Islands in Marmara Sea and Aegean Sea which has such buildings and not so much attention is paid on them. This monastry is spotted on a most beautiful hill which is -0-meters to a gorgeous sea. You have to walk a long path to reach the building.
There are more pictures of the monastry inside my gallery

they're both amazing, but this one is still my favorite of the two. i like how her mood doesn't match the mood of the structure as much. it seems less planned and more striking.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

Arathrim In reply to audreysnow [2006-03-11 09:24:57 +0000 UTC]

the other one is like a story maybe thats why it got that attention, a devastation story,
I understand your point

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

audreysnow In reply to Arathrim [2006-03-11 14:17:50 +0000 UTC]

yes, i definitely got the devastation, but i think it would have worked even better for me if it looked more like the building's devastation had come from recent disaster and not just time. the way it is, the model and the building had a similar mood/ feeling, but they didn't seem related or connected to me. as i said before though, they're both amazing really. which do you prefer?

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

Arathrim In reply to audreysnow [2006-03-11 14:33:03 +0000 UTC]

Then probably would be in this situtation, totally collapsed or something like that. It's like watching a man from inside slowly eroding day by day. I don't know which one I prefer I tend to like things that mostly the crowd doesn't pay attetion but between them I can' decide I find different things I like for both of them,

You often use quite strong language in your titles. In my personal perception I can't get the association to the title in this one though.

Ohh my friend it's so hard to find one everytime. Having hard times, for this one it just came to my tongue, seeing those walls collapsing and the beautiful model in the door, just me think of a dream but a tortured one
