Description
This one was a commission for LunarEstrella . And ooooh boy was it a challenge. I mean, a challenge like no challenge I've ever done before. Not only was it full-body with a background, which I'm not really used to at all (I've done like two, ever), but halfway through my Photoshop Elements broke and I had to finish it in Photoshop CS6, which I am totally unfamiliar with and for the record, do not like XD So basically a new concept with a new software - basically I had to go back to the beginning of my drawing skills! And the colours/darkness might be off because the difference between my laptop and my tablet was really, really noticeable and I don't know why.But I have to say, it was a whole lot of fun and I really learned a lot ^^ I'll probably have to use CS6 from now on though, cause I dunno what's wrong with my poor Elements.

If you ever do try GIMP, find Window->Single Window Mode, as otherwise it's really hard for PS users to move to it. And also understand it's not just a free version of PhotoShop, any more than MyPaint or Krita... but a different program

Makes sense. PhotoShop is really hard to learn, it's a lot of work, so people don't want to start over. Probably it's hard becoming a forest mage too, a watcher

This looks good , the ambiance is soft and it's lovely to see the character being frame up by the trees, almost like a photograph. The environment setting looks peaceful and tranquil and the character looks so serious, which I think really balance out the whole painting, but I can't help but feels as if I've interrupted on his time alone and he is giving me this stern look, like yeah, what do you want? haha. I like how the light bounces off from the floor to hit the tree/branches, defining its form and the way it wraps around The Watcher face, which helps to convey his facial expression. He look almost like he is sitting on a natural throne, a little hint of his majestic personality or lineage perhaps, like someone who is full of dignity and pride. Sorry if I'm off the mark here, as I'm not familiar with the character personality, just the way I see and feel around the character. Is that dragon from LunarEstrella as well, or was it created by you? The details for it is really good and it does compliments The Watcher with its presence without much distraction and stealing the focus away from the main character.
I hope your poor Elements will be working again soon, but even with CS, you did a magnificent job at doing up the landscape and the character, the whole setting and environment seems to fit in together real well. The perspective and angle is also comfortable to view. It does not give a claustrophobic feeling even though the space here is confined. Great work from a Master

That moment when technology decides to be a dick at the worst possible time. I can sympathize lol! Yeah, I immediately noticed there was a background in this picture, which was something new. Despite the setbacks, I still feel it came out pretty well. Only thing is the lighting around the left hand, not sure if that was intentional, but still a nice drawing. Even though it's at a distance, the details in the two faces came out pretty well, too
