During my trip down to Baltimore (again) I (again) headed to see the museum to see anything new I haven't seen, and this is what I got. She looks like she needs a new paint job because I can see the rust everywhere.Related content

Somebody direct me to the museum's donation pool so I can chip in a few bucks and earmark 'em specifically for this thing to be cosmetically restored. Β It looks hideous and a disgrace to its past to be a rolling rustbucket.!

It's always sad to see trains rusting away in sidings, whether preserved or not.

it's in operating conditions, but they didn't even bother painting it.

Did they use CSX paint on this thing? Here's a shot of it in service in '81 [link]

Only reason I mentioned it was because I recall seeing newly painted CSX units back in the day that were fading out sooner than old units still wearing their original paint schemes. Cool shot, regardless. I didn't know they saved that unit.
