I saw this yesterday and it was awesome. I can't see why everyone thinks the ending is bad! I LOVED Nagisa! She was my favorite character in this movie!

There was the last screening today(December 31) in Japan.
Of course I went to the theater.I watched ten times.
I was able to get different expectation every time.

Yes, maybe because of the nature of their wishes (both trying to save one another in a way) neither one will be able to fulfill it, and instead become enemies, but this is just a guess. Waiting for the next series eagerly!Β

The story regards "The Nutcracker" as a motif.

It left me confused, too. In my opinon, it was just badly written from start to finish, from wasting the characters (poor Nagisa comes to mind here, they handled her HORRIBLY), to rushing events. And the ending came literally out of nowhere, it contradicts not only the series, but the rest of the movie itself.
So yeah, just my opinion of course, but I think they succeeded in making the movie as awful as they could. I'm definitely done with the main Madoka Magica story after this.
I'll still look out for the spinoffs, though.

That ending is the best ending for a wish of Homura.And it is the worst ending for her at the same time.
Homura saved Madoka from QB.And she gave Madoka normal human life.
On the other hand, Homura and Madoka may not become best friend.
...Half drawn months, one chair suggest that Homura is alone in ending.
