You were clueless as to why he wanted to stay in school so badly. “Kise, I need to go back to my home…and so do you!” You tried knocking some sense into him. However, the phrasing of the sentence made Kise look up, delighted.

“So you want me to come to your place, (Y/n)-cchi? Sure! I’d love to come!” You sighed at the mistake you made, with a smile on your face nevertheless.

Wanting to say something back, you tried turning to face him, stumbling on your feet as you did so. And Kise was the one to stop you from falling. Yet, it was at the cost of him falling into a puddle.

“Kise! I’m sorry!” you immediately cringed.

There was an immediate change of atmosphere around him, which only lasted a few seconds,“(Y/n)-cchi, I thought I’ve told you to be careful when walking on the road...”

Surprised at his tone of voice, you decided to play it safe and apologize again.

That was when he started smiling; a genuine and happy smile. What was most interesting about it was that he was still in the mud but...he continued smiling.

Seconds after seeing his smile, you were itching to ask him why he was so happy.

He answered your unasked question, “To tell you the truth (Y/n)-cchi, I’ve been trying to tell you something today. That’s why I wanted to stay with you. I needed more time!”

You cocked your head to a side, wondering what it could be.

“I love you.”

You would’ve never expected those words from him. And you never expected those words to have such an effect on you. “Huh...” you managed, with a weak voice, your heart thumping against your chest. Then, with a red and confused face, you sat down beside him, neatly avoiding the puddle.

Stuttering, you tried to cover up your embarrassment, “B-but that doesn’t explain why you’re so happy about being on the floor.”

“Isn’t is obvious (Y/n)-cchi?” He asked, grinning at you. You waited for him to continue.

“I could see your face perfectly when I told you I loved you.”
