how did you get so close with out it flyinf away? What settings or film etc. did you use to get a picture with such clarity?

If this was taken with a digital camera, it must be some camera. I would love to know the model and the specs on that.
Also, great shot. I would love to take pics of bees, but they are attracted to me, and I am allergic to them. So, I pretty much just avoid the opportunity when it arrises.
Also, this image has a great depth of field and wonderful use of appeture.

Thank you! I use a Sigma SD9 DSLR and this one was shot with a 70-300 macro Sigma lens. I was about 10' away from this critter for this shot.

The composition of this one is better then the other. Love the yellow back of the bee, in great contrast with the blue the sky.
