Description
NEW Brush I use for my commissions:So here are some of the brushes I use for my line art, you are free to use these settings as they are or customize them further to your liking. If you want to ask questions regarding other brushes just ask and I might make another one of these.
Download if you cannot see.
the program I use is Paint Tool SAI (the original trial one not the crack) and here is the trial ---> sai.detstwo.com/sai/
EDIT: You can download the last brush's elemap file for only 100 points. or you can purchase it here ( gum.co/TSOdf ) for $1. Add this to the folder where your paint tool sai folder is (mine is called PaintTool SAI English Pack) and then put this in the folder titled "elemap". If you have the trial version then you should press "start-sai" and the elemap will be there. If you do not then I suggest you take the "start-sai" from the trial version (and put it in your crack version folder) then uninstall the trial so all you have to do is press "start-sai" and it will be there. I made it into a .rar file so it stays as a .bmp file and you don't have to change it yourself!

I use the program on my laptop and with a mouse, though I also have a touchpad if this matters.
Maybe that's the problem but I really hope not cause I don't have a tablet but I also don't feel like this could be just because it's on a laptop and on a tablet...?
Please, if somebody knows anything about this, please tell me. It's driving me crazy.

But the short answer is that you need a tablet because it handles pressure sensitivity which a mouse/touchpad don't have.

Fornately, it turned out my touchpad/drawing board (whatever it's called) has the ability to detect pressure if you play a little with the options. I was on cloud nine when I found out.

hey, I'm using a tablet, and none of my lines fade out/ become pointed, I know it isn't the tablet because I've tried different software and it works properly, but I generally prefer sai, you got any ideas?

Try turning your "Min Size" to 0%

It depends on the brush you use. In order for the ends to fade out, you would have to use a certain brush. The first lineart should have the fade out effect. The min size should make the ends pointed though. Try with a different brush.

I use almost every brush I have, maily the generic 'brush', I also use relitively every size, but nothing seems to detect pressure

try going to others > options > Β Digitizer Support Β and turn Minimum Pressure to 0%
make sure that the coordinate mode is set to pen and not mouse.

No matter what settings i go through,the lines don't change. It changes how blurry, but never the shape i want ;-;

Hmm, there's possibly two problems: 1) you don't have a tablet. These settings can only be used with pressure sensitivity from tablets or 2) you have a tablet but your pressure sensitivity is off or not working properly ( so you need to reinstall drivers and/or turn pressure sensitivity on)
If its not either of these two then I don't know for sure what might be wrong but I hope I helped even a little bit!

It depends on different factors. One way to get smooth lines is to change the stabilizer settings on SAI (It should be on the upper portion titled "stabilizer". Any number between 15 to S-7 generally makes nice lines). It could also be your own hand. Try to make your strokes light-->heavy-->light to make the ends pointy

You're better off using vector tools because these settings are for tablet users (as a mouse lacks pressure sensitivity)

I'm not exactly sure what you mean but I think you're referring to the pen stroke itself and how the end of your stroke looks thinner/sharper than the beginning. If that's the case then it's really a matter of pressure sensitivity. Just try not to press too hard on your tablet.

Unfortunately no. These settings are best used with a tablet as they fully utilize pen pressure. Paint Tool SAI does not support pen pressure for the mouse.
