Description
Done using markers and color pencils. Brands used are: Prismacolor, Tria, and Copic.This was finished up on the Saturday of Manifest 2004, and for the rest of the convention it was on display on the table. A surprising number of people stopped by and asked whether I was willing to sell it, but I was still too attached to it to let it go X3; I think this is my first time trying the markers/color pencils combination~

Fantastic stuff Apsylus ! You really have squeezed the best out of these markers ! For a pretty tricky medium you've mastered them really well. As a few other have commented the colouring effect in the shoulder plate is just aweinspiring, love that little kind of detail.
Hehehe you'll have to sell it off when you do get abit less attached to it, Im sure there are a few fans out there willing to snatch it off you at animania maybe !? BTW I hope you had an awsome time at Manifest, Im very jeleous.

Har har, I found this because I put you on my devstalk devwatch. I stumbled across your gallery a while back...somehow...I think someone linked you. And I was like, "Hot shit! It's that woman who drew all that awesome art, especially that Rydia and Suikoden 3 fanart!"

Anyhow, about this piece...it looks pretty good! Generally well-proportioned, very well-colored, etc. For some reason I'm really impressed with the colors on the shoulder guard. o_O It's the marbling of colors, I guess. The expression is also, for lack of a better word, spiffy. Cloudtastic, in fact. =0
That silly Cloud.
However, sword-boy seems to be missing an ear lobe, or at least have a very, very small one; also, his right arm seems kind of skinny for someone who routinely hefts a rather wide sword that is roughly as tall as he is. Not extremely so, he's no Barret, but somewhat.
I know you can't use this information to correct this image, but it might help you with other images, or else I wouldn't bother saying it. I figure you are going to draw ears again, and Cloud is a fairly common drawing subject. ^_^; Don't mean to sound nitpicky or anything.
