Description
this is like a quicky remake of a very old artwork I did back in 2008 called 'little red yin' - CLICK! it's super fun to give a refreshed look on some visions I did looooong time ago :] I noticed I did tend to use a lot of dark colours as it seemed easier to avoid any kind of visual depth for a character.

I like the cat more in this one (much more anatomically correct) but I like the hood a lot more in the old picture. It looked so stunningly red and the contrast was amazing. In this time I hardly notice the hood and it seems more like strange reddish mist. They're both great though

I quite like the remake. The "weight" of highlights against shadows, and red against black, is well-balanced/-distributed. Interesting way to make a hood via a red misty outline -- it gives the composition a fresh look. Additionally, where you placed the highlights is appealing, and I particularly love the top of the nose, how you not only kept it in the light to add contrast... but also flattened it so as to balance out the many round areas featured in the piece. Great work!
