Description We both hold hands as we walk along under those diamonds of the abyss, the stars.  A mutual awe of the world in which we live has instilled a silence in both of us, but I begin to hum the first movement of Beethoven’s violin concerto.  Classical is not her genre of choice, but she has a sincere appreciation for it nonetheless, and she enjoys my humming.
Night sounds surround us.  The chirping of crickets and a few birds, all such small things, are no less wonders than the stars we see hundreds of trillions of miles away, and despite the immense difference in scale, these mundane wonders balance and even accentuate each other.  Still, the best part is the smell of night.  The air is crisp and sweet, and though anyone familiar with the cellular biology of plants could explain this phenomenon, it is close to magic to me.
For years, the most serene feeling I knew was this awe, but that had been superseded by the feeling her presence inspired.
Our thumbs caress each other in affection as we stroll wordlessly.
After a few repeats of the simple eight-bar theme, she begins humming along with me.  Our voices sound good together.
She releases my hand and bounces off with that adorable gait of hers, retrieving a wildflower I cannot identify.  She holds it under my nose, and I take in the fragrance.  It is delicate and sweet.  I smile, and this makes her smile more.  I give her a one-armed hug, and we continue onward.
Presently, the trees, already sparse, give way to a rocky clearing.  We’ve reached our destination.  I sit down on one of the surprisingly comfortable rocks partially embedded in the ground, and she sits on my lap.  We are just in time to watch the full moon set behind the distant mountains.  Their snowy crowns look otherworldly in the pale light.  We’ll spend another hour walking back, and tomorrow’s glorious dawn will be the price we pay for this late pilgrimage, but it was worth it; we’ll see plenty more during our time here.

Thank you These were for a Creative Writing assignment. It was basically this: write something prose that has some basis in reality. It was a very broad assignment, and my teacher was enthusiastic about my work

Wow that is very broad! What was your inspiration to write about this subject?

Heh, let's see if I can remember...

I remember I was bummed about having to do something reality-based because I like my sci-fi, and then I heard Mrs. Henry, my teacher, suggesting to another student something like an autobiography. The first thing through my head was, "Oh, gee, I've heard that before. I'll write about how I waste 8 hours of my day in this place." But then this Calvin and Hobbes comic flashed in my brain. It was something like this...

Hobbes: What are you doing?

Calvin: Writing a fictional autobiography.

Hobbes: Why would you write a fictional autobiography?

Calvin: In this, I have a flamethrower!

It was sorta like that. I thought I'd write something about myself, in which I was a character (THE character in some cases) and keep it all true to my personality and how I act, but make up things that haven't happened, to make it more interesting. And the other thing is that I'm a very scene oriented writer. What I love to do is write about one single point and describe it thoroughly, with maybe a little motion going on. I was already doing these exercises in which I'd write just one scene, with no plot or anything, and they'd all be detached from one another, and I just combined that with the autobiography idea.

Oh I see! That is a really cool idea! But it would have been funny to write about how you waste those 8 hours a day Despite the hilarity of that idea, I think your final product turned out wonderful!

Thanks! My teacher thought so too, so that was good. It was the last major assignment we had in that class before the end of the year.

Let's see... straight autobiography.

"I wake up and grudgingly rise from bed. I shower, dress, eat....

First is Mr. Ramienski's class. This is an unending stream of paperwork with the purpose of smashing into my brain the events of the last four hundred years around the world. Next is Mr. Allred's class, where we receive instruction about the absolute most basic and elementary concepts of biology..." and thus.

That kills me.

The best thing that class did for me was to get me interested in sonnets. I've only written two, of course, but I'm happy with them, and sometime I'll probably get around to writing another one...

Well that is good! And yeah... I think that would kill me as well, bad suggestion Anyway, how comes the writing? On your story(novel? book?) I mean.

I really am beginning to get things moving again with my book. This is good! It's not quite as fast as it was before, but I'm picking up momentum. I honestly must attribute some of it to you. Merely taking interest in it has done much.

I just read a few more chapters of your story, and am enjoying it. You do a great job of making Enver very likable.

And a pack of giant predatory spiders! Geez! I was taken aback, lol. I figured it'd be some guy from Gorlon trying to rescue Armalin just when she'd decided to defect, and then she'd be, after a moment of being torn, forced to fight with the Churians. But spiders works just as well

LOL Well I am happy to have surprised you! It really wouldn't do to be too predictable now would it? But in all seriousness, thank you so much, for liking it It makes me feel much better about it!

It's getting done, albeit slower than I'd like. The problem is probably that I haven't done enough micro-planning...

I don't know. I should also cut out distractions and set word-count quotas. Heh, that'd get it done! 1,000 words by tomorrow night, or no online chess!

Haha! Nice punishment Although it does seem somewhat difficult to punish oneself, now doesn't it? Perhaps it is just I who doesn't have the resolve to stick to my own punishment

I've always been proud of my self-discipline, actually. I started taking martial arts when I was rather young, and although I don't anymore, I think it's helped me.

Taekwondo. I rose to a green belt, which, where I trained, meant a lot more than it did other places... I had a cousin who took Karate and made black belt in like a year, and he barely knew a thing.

Yeah, some places are like that. My friend is currently studying Ninpo, which is a ninja-like style. He is teaching me some things, like stances and rolls, but I am not such a great ninja

That's interesting. Martial arts are a good thing, I think. They really improve reflexes and promote clear-mindedness.
