I *really* quite like this one a lot, aonodori!!! e.deviantart.net/emoticons/b/b… " width="15" height="15" alt="" title=" (Big Grin)"/> !!
I thought your overall painting here of “-- Soul --” was pretty excellent indeed, and it is such a beautiful picture in its own right too... the facial tones (including around the lips and the eyes as well) are such a very fine job, and I just love her hair and how it interestingly represents such different creatures (including the fish and their air bubbles, as well as the butterfly and the tiger) as her hair travels through, making this piece more magical and come alive in its sheer impact and execution!!! And what fine digital paint strokes you did in creating all of that, too... including on the feathers, her “tiger-skin”-part, and even that flower on the left side of her head... WONDERFUL here!!! e.deviantart.net/emoticons/t/t… " width="15" height="15" alt="" title="Thumbs Up"/> !!
So overall, aonodori, I highly recommend this artwork of “-- Soul --”... a pretty brilliant job on this picture indeed, and it definitely shows!!! VERY well done!!! e.deviantart.net/emoticons/b/b… " width="15" height="15" alt="" title=" (Big Grin)"/> e.deviantart.net/emoticons/f/f… " width="15" height="14" alt="" title="+favlove"/> !!

The colors and the details are totally great and I love the surreal touch of your portrait. But I have to admit the face looks somewhat distorted to me.

I did have a bit of trouble getting the eyes at the right height, is that the problem you think?

This is one of the problems. But also the position of the right eye (her left eye) in the horizontal area is not perfect, it should be moved a little more to the left side so that it disappears partly behind the nose. Also it should be painted in a slightly different angle and a tiny bit smaller than the other eye. The whole eye area is too much sloped to the left and so are nose and mouth. I've done a little animation with your picture for you to demonstrate what I mean: [link]
I think it's not easy to foreshorten a face from memory, I suggest to use a reference.
