Fortis is showing Thala some very special place he found recently and she seems to enjoy this idea
It's my collaboration artwork with very talented We drew this image together sending a file to each other after some steps.
EDIT: take a look at the steps how it was created
at first she drew sketch of Fortis and send the file to me - I added sketch of Thala, we both finished our characters and I started to work on the water.
I completely lost myself here and sent Shekla a file where our characters were trotting on a gigantic field of water
It looked kins cool, but it was not what we were aiming for...and here a miracle happen! - she created these beautiful details that rescued the artwork: water lilies, birds and grassy hills. I couldn't stop staring on what she managed to do with that boring blank space all full of water
After that I have added some details to the bg: dew, dragonflies, clouds, splashes and here we finished! ^^

The only thing i can say about it is that i wonder why there is no ripples in the water behind them. It's like they suddenly just appeared/fell down in the water making it splash just there :S
Except for that it's just amazing, i love the warmth and emotions in it, great work! <3

This is beautiful, I love the colours and the vividness of this image.
The horses are beautiful, you shade so well, the anatomy underneath really comes to life. In particular I like how you do the manes and tails. You can see all the strands of hair in them and the shine is so perfectly placed. I know you didn't do all the background but I'm going to comment on it anyway. The sea and sky are so lifelike. The ripples on the water are just how they would be if you saw this scene in reality. The clouds are so puffy and I like how you can see the way the wind has caught them. I think what impresses me most about this picture is the detail-the small water drops on the grasses, the tiny veins on the dragonfly, they maybe small but they really bring this to life
It was also really interesting to see how you put this together. I was wondering when you draw your pictures do you sketch the lineart and sketch out the background, only to change it when you are half way though the finished picture if you don't like it, or do you try out lots of different sketches and see which one fits before starting the finished painting?

Amazing collab! Your styles fit together so well, but the differences are enough that it is possible to tell each artist's work apart. The extra details in the background do look gorgeous, this picture is so full of movement and colour!

Shekla really added a lot of detail to the water. I went and looked at the steps you guys took to finish this in her gallery. You guys work really well together! You seem to know just what the other one wanted to see, and it turned out beautifully.
