i'd love to make one for myself out of polystyrene/polymere clay, maybe civil version

These ships are pretty cool! It makes me think of the ships in Final Fantasy 12 and 14.

both have a very 1940s u-boat feel to them..but there is enough difference in shape weapons and style to make them really unique.
I'm guessing the empire vessel makes straight in runs like a torpedo boat or U-boat then gets out of the area quick from the way it's weapons are arranged... the lack of deck guns and turrets make it unlikely it would pull along side and exchange gun fire. most of its weapons seem to be for defense against fighters etc...
the federation vessel looks more like a standard destroyer meant to screen friendly formations intercept lighter vessels attacking the main group, or conduct patrols around friendly bases and fleets..... but that just my guess. I would imagine that Empire vessels would be the primary threat the Federation destroyers are designed to counter ...

Elementary my dear Waffle...I design a lot of vessels fighters and star ships... So I have gone through the mental design process a few times
I'm happy you put some thought into the ships and didn't go..Hey wouldn't it look cool if...I mean I am a fan of the "because it looks cool" design style but when someone thinks about the function and needs of a vessel it adds to the coolness rating.
I could imagine a wolf pack of those Imperial Ships lurking about until they have a vulnerable target. Then sweeping in surrounded by flak bursts, and defending fighters.Β
Using their bow guns and torpedo/rockets to cut apart a convoy, or hammering defensive guns while the big boys wait in the rear to drop troops or come in and deal with the now severely weakened defenses of a target.
I like your visual style features that are familiar combined with unique features. and the fact they are not just old naval warships floating in the sky.

The drawingsoftware that I am using doesn't contain a function of strait line so it will be difficult, but nice idea!

Love them , hope you don't mind if i take a little inspiration from them, i love drawing my own but have gotten a little stuck, and i love they way your bow designs flow smoothly with the hull

Stylish designs!
You are right, they're staring to look a bit like mine, but I think it has more to do with convergent evolution (there are only so many ways you can design a flying ship) and common inspiration sources such as real life late 19th century ships.
Besides, my designs will soon change quite a bit, since, as the whole comic took a turn for the realistic, I decided to turn them into ground effect craft rather than true flying ships.
Also, I can't but note the inspiration from the WW2 Mogami or Tone-class cruisers in the elegantly raked funnel of the ship on the right.

heh. I also used them as inspiration on my Inner Space light cruiser/destroyer designs, so...
Hopefully, you will, quite soon.

yea half correct. I don't like anime style but too realistic drawing is also not good for me, so half-manga style will be nice
