Description Seeing as how scientists are finally on their way to making lightsabers, I thought today would be a good day to post another one of the cards previewed from Fantasy Flight's "Balance of the Force" expansion.

Here's a link to the card set: www.fantasyflightgames.com/edg…

and here's a link to the article on this new lightsaber-y form of matter: gizmodo.com/scientists-created…

Wow. I was wondering exactly how jedis would build their light sabers, even if this wasn't the way it's done canonically, I really like this a lot.
Thank you so much for taking the time to make this.

Is this where Luke constructs a new lightsabre?Β Β

Yes actually ^^ and if the background looks familiar, it is because Luke is constructing his Green Lightsaber in the former home of Obi-Wan Kenobi while he lived as 'Ben' on Tattooine!~ Luke even used Obi-Wan's journal as reference when he created his new Lightsaber, which is why it looks similar to Obi-Wan's! ^^

He actually created the kyber crystal the same way the Sith do, except he didn't use a furnace. Good joke though

ZombieFighter116 In reply to Sagittarius09 [2017-12-03 22:13:16 +0000 UTC]

It's not a Kyber crystal. It's a synthetic lightsaber crystal, much like the ones that Sith create.

no kyber crapΒ luke Β has a true lightsaber Crystal, why Disney downgrade everything for Money? resist their corruption.

He did use a furnace, but it was the manner in which Luke was attuned to the light side of the Force that turned the crystal green instead of red. A green lightsaber used to signify a Jedi who preferred to sought to resolve conflict through philosophy, using violence only as a last resort. As such, the crystal is reflecting Luke's change in personality at the end of the first trilogy from a whiny, gun-ho farm boy to a calm and disciplined Jedi Knight.

looks amazing but he actually created his lightsaber in a cave on dagobah, but than again, i don't know if deleted scenes count as 'canon'

Funnily enough, when I turned in not this one but the main Luke card (the Sarlacc battle one) one of my art directors had the same worry, but his prosthetic looks totally natural until the end of the Jabba sequence when that one guard shoots him in the hand, exposing the wires. Only after that point does he wear the black glove.
