This was sooo much fun! I really loved working on this and figuring some new stuff out. I am really happy with this one and I hope that I will find the time to do more of these fan art illustrations. If you have any suggestions, feel free to tell me.

Since I am doing these to practice different styles, moods and textures, Lion King is a good idea. The setting of that movie is different from what I would draw for myself so it makes sense to try something new.

This is a very fierce piece of work. I really love how you made the Beast's eyes in red and the rain to contrast that so your attention focuses first on the eyes and set the dark tone. That's a good originality aspect
The only little minor critique I have is what is the gold lighting near the bottom supposed to be coming from? I just can't tell if it's a transition from say like fire on the ground and there are flying sparks or if he would be transforming?? Just something to consider if you were to draw something similar to this again so it might complete the story of the drawing. Otherwise, great work

The idea was that there is fire around him. I think the sparks are enough to suggest it, because when I drew the flames, it didn't really look good. If I use this drawing as a reference for something original later on, I will probably stick to my style and draw an entire character with a lot of background with the source of both lights being perfectly clear.

Yeah, I agree with the flames. I don't know if that kind of contrast would have made sense in an up close perception like what you did. But it looked great!
