Hmmm, i very often see people draw landscapes and cities really well like this one... but completely barren!
Is it hard or is this comissioned desire to have JUST the city/cave?

The main focus, what the client wanted, was the landscape/city but after completing that I invested some more time to add a few characters here and there to make the city more alive. And on this scale it's definitely a challenge. This took a long time to paint.

Juts remember Dwarf Fortress there be drunk is normal state for dwarf and they drink only alcohol (unless sick).
It's not final yet? I'll critique a bit then. Perspective of chapel on the middle looks off. Everything else is awesome.

A whole section is missing, with a waterfall and giant mushrooms.
As for the perspective, can't actually be off, everything is on a grid, double checked. but I wouldn't be me if I didn't check it again.

I still appreciate the comment! With a project like this, a mistake can happen and I can use all the help I can get to find them and fix them.

Interesting idea to use those Scandinavian style snow shedding roofs and use them underground, then continue the triangular motif on other surfaces. Its hard to develop a unique look for something as popular are dwarves but I think you've done it.

Thank you for saying that! When I started working on this project I was excited and worried about designing for Dwarves. There are so many great popular designs already, I really didn't know how original I can actually be. And this is only my second illustration for this project and already I've made a lot of progress since the first one, so I think that the end results could be really good.
