This is my own interpretation of Guiseppe Arcimboldo's breathtaking beautiful mannerist paintings of Flora. The nymph Flora is the roman goddes of flowers and spring. There has been written a wonderful poem about Arcimboldo's work wich (translated by myself) says this:

Am I Flora or flowers?
If flowers, how do I have the smiling face of Flora?
And if I am Flora, how can Flora just be flowers?
Ah, I am neither flowers nor Flora.
No, I am Flora and flowers.
A thousand flowers, a single Flora, living flowers, living Flora.
But that the flowers make Flora and Flora makes the flowers,
Do you know how this can be?
The flowers into Flora turned a wise artist and Flora into flowers.

This perfectly shows the synchronism of flowers and Flora.

I think it took me three to four weeks to paint it because it is composed of hundreds of blooms and leaves. My version figures a friend of mine.
