Description
an illustration to Apuleius' "Golden ass", the part about Eros and Psyche. After Psyche found out his identity and by accident burned him with the lamp oil Eros flew back to his mother to sit and lament in her rooms. Aphrodite was very angry with her son for marrying Psyche and scolded him and then made the girl go through several tests to be reunited with her husband.Another illustration to Eros and Psyche
