This drawing was a late birthday gift for a good friend of mine. Her gelding Melvin is an Andalusian-Mix, and I really enjoyed drawing him since he's a horse with so much charisma, even if I had a hard time doing a white horse (His mane is grey, nonetheless!).

I think you're right in both: My scanner hates me and I could've done the shading of the lower mane a bit better. I will try it next time.

I have the same problem with my scanner...it has it's own NAME but it isn't acceptable in mixed company!!! hehehe

Very beautiful! People like you really amaze me (and make me
a little jealous, but in a good way). There are minimal things that can be said to make this perfect, but because I don't know horses as well as others, I am not in the position to say anything about them.

My Crit: Very good, I love the texture, and the shading is very nice The lips could use a bit of work, so could the main and forlocks. They are a bit plastered together. Also are ears are a TAD small, other then that, shading, highlights, are all good.

I really like the shading---it's funny how grey/white horses are so difficult to shade. He has a nice, soft expression in his eye. I love the eyelashes and the ears

Great drawing and shading! The mane seems a bit too structured, but it is well drawn. You did especially good with the veins and bones in his face. Great work!
