Albel Nox and Nel Zelpher from Star Ocean 3, then and now.inspired by #KickYourOwnAss in order to get me out of my art slump, and honestly, now I can't stop drawing again.
The one on the left was on my old account... back in the day when I was Demoneyes14. I was thirteen years old and just starting to get into Photoshop. I didn't own a tablet and back then thought I was hot shit. Man, was I wrong. Even now, I never feel like I am good enough and am striving to become better.
Of course, I could have never done it without the help of , who taught me all I know about photoshop, kicked me out of my anime style, and dragged me into the world of western comics. Star Ocean brought us together :3

honestly, it's a mix of constant practice, trying new things, research and having someone that will critique you and tell you what to fix =3

Yep. :3 My family isn't big on any realistic, semirealistic, manga, or anime art, though. :') No one that I know well is, really. (My brother makes fractals, my mother is an acrylic and oil painter, and my entire family tells me not to consider art as a career.

eh, I wouldn't advise taking career advice from your parents. They can be a huge roadblock. If you really want to, go learn on your own as much as you physically can. Get some really good art books and some supplies and just start studying perspective and anatomy.
