i have layers of you built into melike brickwork like
architecture
or maybe just a lasagna,
you see there's nothing
quite like having your limbs
tremble because you want someone
inside them so badly,
but i'm beginning to realise that
i didn't really like the way you used to
text me, with all punctuation in the
wrong places and words spelled so wrong
that half of the time, i couldn't even
work out what you were trying to say
and sweetheart don't get me wrong,
i'm not being pretentious, i'm just consciously
trying to pick out these flaws which i have
tried to hide behind all this time,
because truth be told, i don't wanna let go.
and that's the first step in moving on.
the sucky thing about this is that
now that i've wrote this poem, i'm going to associate
you with lasagna and italian food
and well,
that's just another part of my life that i'm going
to keep discovering you in.
please just get out.

oh god. no truer words were ever spoken. it's ridiculous, when you're infatuated/in love with someone the powers of association are craaaaaazy. so many things get ruined. but please no not the pasta.
