Description This is a picture of Lucky heading into the dark, shadowy part of the forest. It has absolutely no meaning except that I felt like it. My drawing book helped me with the head, but amazingly, I suceeded in drawing the rest of the body by myself! (They don't do "how to draw horse butts") I also like how the shining came out. I didn't use a reference either, just took a whack at it. Colored with colored pencils and cray-pas (oil pastels). Enjoy!

Thank you! Haha, the pastels I was working with were VERY vibrant, and my scanner also affected the color.

Hey I love the horse in this piece! Next time with the background you should shade like you did on the horse then it would look a little more unified

Thank you so much for the tip! My bad habit is getting away with no background, or backgrounds with little to no attention to detail.

You know I'm just like that. SO lately I've been doing at least one piece where the backgroud counts for most of the piece so I don't get to lazy about it LOL
When I do do the backgrounds I tend to sink more time into them then the objects in the piece. BG's are hard!

You did a really nice job from this angle! I like the shading a lot too and the way you've done the arching trees. I would like to see the same amount of detail in the main that you put in the tail though. The main looks a little flat in comparison. The horse's face looks lovely too--nice work

Thank you for the help! The mane DOES look flat, now that you mention it!

I agree with the above about the sheen of the coat. It's goregous and that's a very cute angle as well.
