Description
Snowy owl done in 2 sessions (several weeks apart thanks to being sick) in colored pencil on colored paper. Used reference from "Artist's Photo Reference: Birds" by Bart Rulon for both the owl and the rock (the wisps of grass were freehand)

This is a thank you present to my grandfather and will be mailed out in a couple days. hope he enjoys I figured a nice snowy owl would remind him in his summer getaway just how cold it gets up here....

edit: readjusted the color balance to better match the original image before I mail it out and don't remember anymore
