You have to unzip it to be able to find it. Unzip it into the folder you want it in. What version of windows are you using?

Windows 2000? Or Windows XP? I'm not sure what year XP came out. You might still be running 2000 in that case. I hope you're not still running Windows 98? If you right click on the "My Computer" icon on the desk top and then click on Properties, that should tell you what system you're running.

XP has an unzipping utility built in. That's all. I was hoping that you didn't have to go and get a utility for unzipping... although I have another one. I hate the way the XP one functions and wish I could figure out how to customize it. Since I sometimes get .rar's I also have a little freebie program that unzips those too.

Apophysis (pronounced U-pah-fuh-sis) has scripts of it's own... written for Apo, and you run them inside of Apo. They can do many things... One of my favorites is Liz's Plastic script. Another one is her Woven Pinwheels one. There are sites that have resources right here on dA. *Apophysis is one.

im still not gettin these skripts, how do u make them? by minipulateing everything? then saving the flames? and thats a skript?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

anjaleck In reply to Marluxia20009 [2007-06-30 02:22:15 +0000 UTC]

The scripts are the ones that come with Apo. You load them with the menu and run them on the fractal. The scripts manipulate the transforms in a certain way according to the script. Sometimes results are random and sometimes they are all the same. After you get a flame you like you render the flame. I'm sure the help files for the program will tell you some of this... and the tutorials for beginners are a huge help too.

anjaleck In reply to Marluxia20009 [2007-06-30 03:42:58 +0000 UTC]

By submitting a deviation. On your page at the right you should have a menu of dA related things. One of them is submit a deviation. Click on that and the rest of the process is pretty self explanatory.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

anjaleck In reply to Marluxia20009 [2007-06-30 05:53:09 +0000 UTC]

Oh, I render them in .png format with the transparency feature off and then convert them to .jpg's. I do that because sometimes I get requests for prints and I want to use the .png format for prints. The little icon that looks like a gear is how you render... or you can do it from the menus. And now I'm going for your Apo link.

how did u get that?....tell me!!!! how did u get the colors?....the shapes especially. als, how do u get more flames that are the spheres like that? wat do u do?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

anjaleck In reply to Marluxia20009 [2007-06-27 23:41:55 +0000 UTC]

The colors come from gradients that again are part of Apo. Once you get used to working with the gradients you can learn how to make your own. The shape came from the plastic script that I was telling you about earlier. I played with the transforms (triangles) in the transform editor to get the shape I wanted. I'm pretty sure one of the variables used was hyperbolic. And perspective might have been another. Once you learn how to get around in Apo, sometimes folks share flame files (what the Apo raw fractals are called) and you can learn a lot from them. For starters I would recommend that you go to *Apophysis and find a beginners tutorial. As you get more familiar, move up through to intermediate tutorials.

That's how I learned... tutorials and playing around.

ok lol iv realized u can do a lot with the gradiants u get, birghten em and all that jazz, and same goes for the tirangles, though idk how they represent the pic, o well... ty so much for ur help though^^

anjaleck In reply to Marluxia20009 [2007-06-30 02:23:41 +0000 UTC]

You're welcome. You can get some awesome results, but you have to work with Apo a while to be able to get them. Scripts help a lot... they give you results quickly. But they don't give a finished product. Even after I run a script I tweak the triangles in the transform editor.

anjaleck In reply to gr8shiva [2007-02-11 01:38:18 +0000 UTC]

Thank you! I guess I do if that is how you define talent. I've always envied traditional artists. I have the skill for it, but not the artist-spirit. Although I love beauty, I'm too logical and rigid for traditional art. I can't find a "style" and am always reworking things. So much so that I usually ruin the art in the end. Sigh... That's what is perfect about digital art. If I screw it up I can just "undo" it!

MoonlitWitch In reply to anjaleck [2007-02-11 03:00:53 +0000 UTC]

Ya know, I'm not sure what keywords I used.... LOL I know I used Fractal Art as one keyword....and I think Neuvo Sundial. I always put the title of the piece in the key words, as well as the program I used. Other than that, I don't know if I used any others or not.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

anjaleck In reply to MoonlitWitch [2007-02-11 03:23:40 +0000 UTC]

K... you might have made NeuvoSundial one word. I usually use my full nickname, fractal, then the pertinent words of the title, and if there is a plural I use both plural and singular forms, and then anj on the end. Maybe their search is capital sensitive and it wouldn't work if I used a small S. But you know, that doesn't make sense!
Oh well...
