and now for something completely different.im not dead, ive just been super busy with other stuff. ive been doing real commissions, working on stuff for the art institute, its been great. free time is shot to hell but whatever!
anyways, a buddy VERY randomly dropped by. we chilled for a while, and he asked how long it would take to draw a pic... i asked him how big.... he said about a regular piece of paper.... i asked him what he wanted.... and he asked for an evil dragon.boy was THAT a blast to the past. i used to be such a fantasy sci-fi child when i was young- read the books and drew dragons unicorns and faires, etc.
THE LAST UNICORN IS THE BEST MOVIE EVER!!!
but then i discovered anime and my interests went in a completely different direction. it was still fun to suddenly drop back to super imagination. aight!
colored pencils.... and the dragon is mine byatches-
though is anyone has an idea on how to make it look more evil, feel free to suggest something!

I understand the time it took to reply I've been kinda busy here myself. I do agree that scales are fun I enjoy making them myself when something requires it.

A) The Last Unicorn totally totall totally IS the best movie in the history of ever.
B) You rock! This is so amazing, the black on black and yet how well the edges show! Great work on the sheen of scales and the fearsomeness of that mouth. Great teeth and a wicked gleam in the eye.

I used to draw dinosaurs when I was little. ALL the time. Then I gave that up and started drawing bunnies and such at around 8. Now, here I am today, drawing Japanese crossdressers. We've both come a long way, my friend! xD
Anyway, this drawing is SO phenominal!! 
As for making him more scary, I might suggest making him frowning a bit more; maybe make his eyes look more sinister. But I don't know. I think he looks quite frightening as it is! I was never very good at scary anyway...*thinks back to all of the dinosaurs she drew and how un-scary they were* 
Anyway, marvelous job and all that jazz!

heheh its a lil something for everyone. i laid the overall color down in prisma colors, then drew the scales on with a 3H-5H lead pencil. ^^ hooray!

I would say to tilt the eyes more upward, and make them sharper. Maybe cut out a few teeth, too, those have to be hard to close his lips around, but it's great! I wish I could draw dragons!

When i was really liitle i admit, that movie scared me. This is really good. I didn't kno u drew stuff like this. It's very cool but i kinda prefer teh bishies myself. lol...
