So this is the WIP mask/helm thingy for my upcoming Shahkulu cosplay. I hope to have him done by April. (fingers crossed) The base is wonderflex and foam with craft foam making the sections on top. I still have to finish painting it and add the other vinyl pieces.
The Renegade's and Shahkulu's masks differ a whole lot, so it's been hard getting good refs for this. But I definitely think that this is one of the coolest masks that I've made so far!

I have a question. You said the base is wonderflex and craft foam. I'm rather confused. Which material is the top layer? Are you painting directly on wonderlex? and if so, what sort of paint do you use?

Yeah, there's a lot of layers going on with this so I can see why it's confusing.
The top layer is craft foam that was sealed with primer and painted with acrylics. The actual base is craft foam stuck between two layers of wonderflex to give the whole mask durability.
So it's four layers in all, with craft foam being the actual painting one.
