It seems they liked your idea.
The movie would be now an "underground adventure" (instead of a space invasion, f*ck Sony).
Just add (also) "underwater" and "mermaids".

I think a little clarification is needed. The info you heard was translated from Russian, and very roughly so:
1. "Underground" was a mistranslation of "underwater".
2. There was never anything mentioned about space invasions in any stage of development, Sony or otherwise. My guess is this idea only spiraled out of control when people heard the Mane Six would go to an "alien world". Keep in mind, "alien" is a blanket term for anything that is strange, new, or unfamiliar, not just something from outer space (that's why they're called "space aliens").

Honestly I have no Idea, just hoping it's great. The people who were announced to be working it stated that they are like the show, plus Meghan McCarthy is a Producer so I think the film is so far in good hands; Just keep it away from Michael Bay and Ehren Kruger. lol

Failing that, I just want the movie to tell a story that goes places and means important things for the world. Having higher production values than the show would also be excellent. They could stand to make a lot of waves and a lot of money.

Ya, The film only has 2 years to be made and just started scripting, usually CG - even Traditional Animation takes that length alone so i'd assume i'll be Flash like the series, I just really hope it's a bit more of a higher quality of the show animation.

The show already has high quality animation, and I fully expect the movie to be Flash, I'm just saying it would be awesome if they found the time and/or money to up the ante even further. Sort of like how the Powerpuff Girls movie and The Simpsons movie turned out.

My idea for a poster showed the Mane Six lined up sideways in a row, each frowning (save for Pinkie Pie) and each with a mustache or something similar drawn on their faces. Meanwhile, Discord is at the top grinning and holding a pen.
