Nice strong contrast, I love that!
The blur could have been a little less in my opinion.

Yes, it's a flood since the water level in the Salton Sea rose quite high.

The level of the Salton Sea changes, and in this case, was obviously quite high. The stick was a pole from a power line. Made for quite a scene!
