that must be a very comfy branch

also, I can't help but think 'ninja cat' while looking at the one coming from behind.

Well, the Belize Zoo is in the middle of the jungle and the animals have enough room to be. And the place is not crowded at all. I guess that's why it looks that peaceful.

sounds like a good place for them if they have to be in captivity. I worked as a voloneer at a wild animal rescue center in ecuador. they didn't have that much space, but as big as they could afford. but it was also in the middle of the jungle which is such a good thing for the animals and a big part of their rehabilitation.
there was a margay there as well.

It is a nice place for the animals actually, even when it keeps on being a zoo.I'd love to see that place in Ecuador as well!

yes all the familiar natural sounds and smells are so good for the animals wellbeing.
the place I worked and lived at is called El Arca, if you want to go there ^^
it's in Cotundo outside of Tena. It's driven by a family that also lives there. and all of the animals had a hard life, most of them are trafficed animals and comes in with the police, it's often young animals or babys ment to be sold and held as pets, and have had there mothers sold or mostely killed by illegal hunters (what's the proper english word?)

There is also 'la isla' in Tena. a very small island in the middle of Tena with amazing forest. some of the animals goes free there too. but the ones in cages has it small. =/ but it was a good peaceful visit.

I've heard about El Arca a while ago. Now I'm willing even deeply going there!
I guess that "animal traders" is the english statement you were looking for. To bad that there are so many people with out the proper respect for animal life. At least we have, on the other hand, people like the family at El Arca... and wonderful volunteers!

if you go there say hello from me!!, Emma from Sweden. they know hwo I am then, I'm the volunteer that spend the longest time there ever.

I have information from El Arca to people who wants to give donations and such to help, If you would like to.

yes. at least we have that. it's so bad how some people treat are precious animals and nature..

Six is a great age to get into animals. Saddly I can't talk so much with my sister. She lives in Switzerland... quite far from Mexico City .
