So I've been watching a lot of the older Studio Ghibli movie, Pom Poko. In it are six bazillion transforming raccoon dogs, or tanuki. Despite being one of the most popular animated movies in Japan a few years ago, it never really got a lot of viewers in the US, mostly because the tanukis have prominent testicles, which they make constant jokes and songs about, turn into pumpkins and toads, and even beat riot police with. Can't imagine a less American Family Friendly movie. Anyway, Disney sort of got over itself and recently released a dub of Pom Poko. The movie rocks a lot, it's got a great story that will make you giggle and cry, lots of really great songs, and super smooth animation. It also has at least 30 different tanuki in it besides the main ones, all of them totally distinct and unique looking in their faces alone. T

Aaaaanyway, there's a brief bit with a fox in it, and the more I watch it, the more I wish I could see some more of them in it. I mean, the reason you only see one is that most of them died out in the area (lame) but still. I really wanted to draw a fox a little bit like how the tanukis look for the vast majority of the film. So yeah, here he is.

Copics, ballpoint, brains. I didn't put him in fanart because a. I didn't draw him close enough to the style of the movie for him to look even remotely like anything in it, b. the one fox in the movie doesn't look a thing like him and c. this is mostly my own style. It mostly looks different cuz I actually got off my butt and got a reference for the fox head. Yay.
