Well, what was intended to be a speed paint ended up being quite the opposite. I think I clocked in a solid 6hrs. into this - mainly bcz I was having issues with the base drawing and had to keep revisiting it. I don't even think im 100% satisfied with it either.perhaps this will be updated in the future.
anyways- this is a "recommended" piece from Nani. I hope you like it!
worked with different layers BUT painted primarily on ONE layer (which I seem to do more and more lately..)

Color studies you say? Interesting. I to am working on that sort of research. You see, this drawing caught my eyes as it is indeed, attractive. Looking at your efforts, the hair looked like it took forever to dom the clothes seemed like you had under control, but legs themselves are the pinicle to your work here. I love the wide hips, not sure why. I thank you for this. It's a musy fav^^

Amazing coloring work! She's definitely got some thunder thighs, but she's no Chun-li.

You did a great job on this. My favorite thing abut this is the shading and highlights in the coloring.
Me and my friend just started playing Muramasa: The Demon Blade.
Sometimes, we would get too into it, during fight scenes, but after they ended, we'd just enjoy the scenery and detail in everything.

And yea i know exactly how you feel - ill venture to whip up something rough and quick and i end up being very meticulous and detailed and take forever to finish

yeah i agree. more ambitious and detailed pieces are very daunting before they are started. its like "oiii i gotta lot of little things to draw on this that could take hours"

This is a very striking and energetic take on the character from the game itself as well as showing the general improvements in working digitally. The design of the character and the way you've presented her captures the mystery and energy that she has as a samurai. The posture though, does come across as rather weird, mainly with the way her legs are linked together yet she tilts herself forward which gives off the idea of her being unbalanced and starting to fall. What it might be is that you were creating the idea of her walking carefully taking small step and being prepared, but with the way we view her it does look rather odd and hard to understand on first glance.
Colouring is very good and heavy brush work and addition of smoothed tones work very well together. It creates the energy of the art style found in the game as well as expressing the generally feel of showing your take on the colouring itself in being original and fresh.

Beautiful! I always wanted to play The Demon Blade, cause I think the visual design is fantastic. Alas, that I don't have a Wii, nor do I plan to buy one. But your Momohime is so good that I don't feel the need to play the game now

aww thanks man. yeah i FINALLY got around to giving the game a shot just recently. mostly bcz i got it used for cheaper. i loved the odin sphere but never really went out of my way to try and find it brand new either.

I worked on Odin Sphere and adored it! I still have my copy and I really feel I must play it myself (didn't get to finish it during QA), but the problem is, I just can't go past the need to be "rewarded" by silly virtual achievements that really aren't worth a thing. Yes, I know I'm an achievement whore... It's more like an addiction...

Ah, not really. Should have explained myself better. I'm the Spanish translator, so the text they have in Spain (and sometimes Latin America) is my responsibility, not the English text. Still, I have to say it's a fun job, surrounded by crazy people doing crazy things all the time
