I think the face says it all XDI love the last ep of DN, go matsu! You crazy Light shooting idiot, you! I knew he'd do something fab by the end, no one could be that stupid/kinda useless for a whole series XD
How has this turned into a matsu praise session? This should be about Mikami!
I thought his face was hella funny here so tadah!
Also, I was wondering about how he killed himself. He slits his wrist with his pen but seconds later it zooms out and he is flailing his arms around and infact bleeding from his stomach... Answers are love!

To answer your question, it's generally accepted that Mikami stabbed himself in the chest with his pen. Being a fountain pen, it allowed him to bleed out rather quickly, leading to the veritable geyser of blood that distracted everyone long enough for Light to escape. In fact this isn't a dramatization; fountain pens have been shown to actually kill people in this way, though it's usually because they've been stabbed in the jugular or carotid artery, rather than the heart. Given how strong Mikami is, plus the adrenaline he was experiencing at the time, it's not hard to see how he could have accomplished such a feat.
