Did you look at any reference images when making this or is all your work from the power of the imagination?

I looked at a couple pics to get an idea of what he looked like, mostly just for the face. The character position, shadowing and rest of the background is from my head.

One day in some school somewhere there will be an instructor that is going through classic Line art and the front runners of the whole style and development, then a slide will pop up with your line work and the instructor will say and this is the artist and Reinvented and paved the way for a new and wonderful a style so others could achieve a higher study of line work.
