Description Brocade
acrylic on canvas
16"x24"
by Amy Kollar Anderson

This painting may seem familiar to some. That is because it is a portion of a previous posting called "Fountain of Youth" [link] Yes, I cut the canvas, restretched it, and reworked this piece to it's current state. I am still not 100% thrilled, but I can live with it in this version and have decided to leave it alone.

I liked "Fountain of Youth" for the context, but this is lovely as well. Your paintings are all so strange and wonderful, I wish I could explore the worlds inside them.

That is so kind of you to say! I would like to try that original idea again in a different format. It just didn't seem to work this time. Thanks!

Love the darker hues to this one - exudes a more surrealistic air

Thank you. Yes, I need to keep an eye on my colors. They are getting a little crazy. That can be good in some pieces, but I like the darker hues too.

Wow! It looks like you brightened it up a little. I like the magenta you added to the blanket and I love the patterns in the foreground folage and her little grub friend.
Are you going to rework the other half too?

Thanks! Yes, I did brighten it up quite a bit. Nope, the other half has been cut up. Two bigger panels went to my Mom and sis, and some has been cut up for bookmarks. I still have about a quarter left, but it is a really boring part, so I don't know what I will do with it.
