Description to those who looked before, my apologies. i had recently updated the piece by adding in a more realistic starfield in the background as many of you suggested. but for some reason i was unable to edit the deviation due to some upload error or something. i would have gotten it up sooner but apparently i still cant upload this mother. but here it is, enjoy.

several reasons why this piece is named adversity:
1) my computer crashed and i haven't gotten it back up yet
2) im using my friends computer, who also needs it as much as i do, so work dragged on for quite a while. ironic that my best terragen art so far has been made on someone else's computer instead of mine.
3) i am used to the comforts of cs2 that ps7 got quite difficult. i miss nesting and shift clicking multiple layers. oh and the warp transformation would have been useful for the wormhole too.
4) i dont have a registered version of terragen, so not only is the piece in low res, but i had to painstakingly stitch all eight renders.
5) a wacom tablet would be nice, but i must draw with
my finger on a laptop instead.
6) im kinda new at this.
7) i should be studying for finals.

stats:
-modeled in worldmachine
-rendered in terragen
-postwork and stitching in ps7

also if you like this piece, please fav the wallpaper submission for the exotika ii contest: [link]
much appreciated

I would like to thank you for creating this. I have had this as my desktop ever since I found the piece and I've never thought of ever changing it to anything else. There is a quality to it that must makes it unobstructive yet extremely pleasing to watch.

My only regret is that there are no higher resolutions of this available, and that the aspect ratio is 4:3, though I don't mind the distortion much. (I use 16:10.)

thank you very much for the kind words!

your regrets were my regrets as well. it would be nice to have this as a poster size, but as you can imagine, being a college student limited on funding prevents one from purchasing registered editions. maybe in the near future i can revisit this piece.

Featuring some of my fav images and this one is certainly featured.
The concept alone is mind blowing.
You executed it with perfection!

It still worked out well enough.
I just hope to figure out how to do a worm hole

Hmm, I thought the title referred to some terrifying force about to be poured out upon the land. I'd sure be expecting some adversity if I looked out my window and saw... that. Adverse or not, it's still amazing!

You did this with your finger on a laptop? Thats just incredible. You've managed to do a sick job with virtually no resources...

and you can imagine how frustrating it must have been doing the wormhole...i couldnt use the pen pressure option so i had to opt out for fade instead.

I know how you feel exactly. I just bought a tablet less than a week ago, until then it was a mouse all the way...

it's amazing, the wormhole is just stunning. anyway the upper right corner. those stars just don't seem to fit into this piece.

yes it looks mutch better with the updated starfield
but i think there are too mutch stars in it, so it doesn't fit in the pic

the rest looks very very good
thats why you get the fav

Looks awesome though!
