Description Fine silver viking knit net is tightly wrapped around the onyx agate cabochon, holding it firmly in place on a 16 ga sterling silver wire base.
Pendant is minimally decorated with wire wrapped, hammered 16 ga wire.

I oxidized and polished the pendant to enhance the wire wrapping, viking knit bezel and the color of the stone.

Pendant measures 55 x 32 mm (2.165 x 1.18''),
Leather necklace is 51 cm (20.08) long, with additional jump rings for adjustment.

Beautiful wrapping! Viking knit is one of my favorite techniques, and it looks gorgeous when it's this even.

Thank you! I love viking knit, but it has to be soft wire to get it to be this even, I tried with bronze and copper wire and wasn't satisfied with the result so I stick with fine silver wire

I only tried it with silver plated and copper wire, but I can't get it this even with those materials either. Silver wire does seem like a good solution!

And be sure to use fine silver (999) it is much softer than 925 silver (even dead soft sterling silver wire) and that means a lot when wrapping a cabochon with viking knit
