Description
Wow. This project took a lot of effort. (Even though I didn't have to make the fabric underdress for this costume--just the armor and accessories.) I used dark green satin (reinforced with nylon boning) to make the corset and some dark green knit fabric to make the band for the necklace, arm cuff and hairband. The hard smooth armor items I made out of craft foam coated with styrene, and I used both cast resin and plastic Christmas ornaments to make the many gemstones that studded the costume. The two-handed sword was enormous--I made it by layering styrene over a reinforced PVC pipe core. (The handle and hilt I made using insulation foam, epoxy putty, and hotglue.)
