Hello everyone!

This time too, it has been a freaking long time. I hope you're all fine and had an awsome Halloween!

So, again a fanart, today. This is Janel Theranon, Earl of Tolamer, from Jenn Lyons's book "The Name of All Things". Same book series (A Chorus of Dragons) as my previous Rev'arric fanart.

These books figure awsome characters who display a lot of interesting features, which makes them a lot of fun to draw. Janel here is one of the three main characters of the series. She's red, she's firey, and she is a knight. She comes from the jorat people who worship horses. Funny thing, their God-king loved horses so much that he gave his people horse features. That is the reason of the strange black thing, on Janel's arms (which isn't a thing, but merely the colour of her skin); she has these black "socks", just like horses have sometimes. In the story, this skin colour is called "night embrace". The other thing that you see on her that comes from horses is her hair cut. Jorat people shave the sides of their heads to make their hair resemble a horse's mane. In jorat culture, people choose their genre freely, and Janel is a female person with a manly identity. That's the reason why she has aaaaall these trinkets in her hair, show-offing jewels being considered manly. That's also the reason why it was interesting to draw her, because both the fact that she is female and damn pretty, but also has a man temper had to show up. On the drawing, Janel is being the Black Knight at a tournament.

Janel's armour owes a lot to Armstreet's Dark Star, if some of you know the reference. (Armstreet is a ukrainian brand specializing in medieval costumes. They have an awsome online shop if you're interested in these things, and still try to run it, despite the war, which is impressive. You'll find them here: armstreet.com/ )

I'm not sure about my scann for this drawing; my screen is very red, and it results in a very bloody picture, as, in fact it should be more orange. How do you see it? If you think it is too red, I will try and change the colour balance on another screen.
