in my yard sometimes come that bird and just walks around.. but that is rare because my cat always try to catch it.. you are so lucky that that bird made nest in your flowerpot, you could take picture of little birds when they hatch that is cool!
just don't touch that eggs, because bird won't came to sit on it.. last year I picked up an egg from my peacock, just to see how it looks and I put it back just the way I found it, but she refused to sit on her nest. same thing happened with wild ducks when i was walking around wood, i saw duck's nest and picked up one egg and put it back but poor duck never came back to sit on it.. birds remember how they left their nests and if there is something wrong, they notice that. they are smart and I'm pretty sure that they can count how much eggs they have..
wow, sorry for my long comment..

I've only been awaking my National Geographic side and if all goes well I hope to take and share a picture with the little birds without influencing in their behavior

Yes I know! I've had ducks and I know how much they care about building the nest, and how careful they move and rotate their eggs. I'm not an expert but I think I read disturbance is the biggest reason for a bird to abandon its nest. If it feels threatened by another animal or human it will leave.

wow, interesting.. I assumed that it must have been something like that I just feel sorry that I was so stupid and young to touch those eggs. I have never done it again..
