i don't like the wacom tablet
it feels weird to replace a mouse with a pen in such a weird way
i mean with pen you can actually see what you're drawing
and i'm used to the mouse so i use that

I only have a tablet because I can't draw with a mouse for crap, but my one friend only has a trackpad and still does awesome art. She says she wants a tablet, though, and I get why: Tablets DO make things easier. However, if you can't draw well in the first place, then a tablet won't do you any good.

But. All drawing needs is practice. You don't have to upload EVERY SINGLE DARN DRAWING YOU EVER DID to DA.
So, why not practice with a tablet?

I always put the tablet I used in the description of my work just because I use the Intuos and Bamboos at my school, and I like to keep track of what I used.
I definitely agree on this. My first tablet was an Aiptek, and people CONSTANTLY heckled me and said "GET A BAMBOO! GET AN INTUOS!"

So true. I adore my Wacom to bits, but tablets are worthless if there isn't some sort of skill behind them =3 And a skill art is, something learned, not manufactured with some tool or inborn talent (though some people are naturally more drawn to it than others).

It's so true that art is something that must be learned with time and patience. (: I just wish I had the time to learn it better since I'm not naturally more drawn to it. Oh well, we always have to prioritise and make choices; you can't have everything in life. (:

Just a week or two ago someone asked what my tablet was and I got smack for it being on the higher end while my art is lower end. (I was on Niko's Paintchat..never again. xD)
It really shouldn't matter WHAT I have, nor should I not be able to have what I have because of my skill level.
It's the art that matters, not necessarily the tools behind it. I love this stamp. <3 If only more people wouldn't discredit you if you're too good and say 'it's because of the tools' or say because you aren't good, 'you shouldn't use those tools'.

Ugh, that's horrible! (: I don't understand why art has become so tool-orientated, shouldn't people be looking at the art, not what tools are being used (and they definitely should not be looking at how expensive or "good" those tools are)?

Yep, anyone can have a tablet, doesn't mean they can draw (haha, like me).
I agree to some extent, of course it's down to the skill, but anyone serious about digital art should be able to master a tablet too, when they can afford one.
As for wacom vs other brands, I gotta stick with Wacom haha, their tablets are much better quality, it just means you go hungry for a month
