And this now lives aren’t free in my head, was thinking of naming this AU something like “Another Life” but I’m also accepting recommendations.

So we have have teen Kovu, and despite Kovu being 2 seasons older, Kiara is definitely bigger. Kovu is trying desperately to flirt with a currently uninterested Kiara.

Kiara is still quite friendly and goofy in this AU, but not being so extremely isolated by a very controlling (probably paranoid) dad, has led to her not falling head over heels for the first male she meets.

Kovu is the adopted son of a neighbouring pride, he is Nala’s third removed cousins son, and has been sent as a possible mate for Kiara. Kovu has a big ego and is used to getting his own way, being pampered as a royal. Kiara is not impressed by Kovu’s playboy attitude, but doesn’t hate him, still hanging out with him.

Nala likes the idea of Kovu being Kiara’s mate, even though he is an extremely distant relative, it would mean she could increase her status as Queen.
Zira also likes Kovu, as his green eyes and dark mane remind her of Scar (whose death she is not over). Besides Kovu’s arrogance means Zira can easily manipulate him.
Simba isn’t sold on Kovu, despite him being against arranged marriages he can see the benefits of Kovu being Kiara’s mate…that is if he can impress Simba who treats Kiara as the princess she is.

Which Kovu should I choose? I decided to play around with his colors, as he has no set parents and only a distant relation to Nala.
