First attempt at the Emma Watson Hermione Granger,whom, despite many peopl'es dissent, I LOVE. I can get past her insecure front of know-it-all ness and see the individual who is strong and always willing to express her deepest convictions, and ACT on things when she perceives injustice (ie. Dumbledore's Army). I find her overzealousness on some things (S.P.E.W., lol) endearing evidence of her youth and naievety, rather than annoying, and I personally relate to her feeling that she only has personal validity through her brains (and trust me, that feeling can SUCK lol). Anyway, aside, or perhaps ALONGSIDE, Harry, I always thought her the biggest hero of the series. She is loyal to a fault too, which is a REALLY rare trait in a friend.Regarding technical issues, on second glance at this I wish I hadn't used a pic of Watson at her current age, because no one will recognize her, expecting to see little-girl Hermione, but oh well, the actress is 16 now, she ain't a baby anymore. Only thing that bugs me is her lips are too full...and her nose is too long..so this may get resubmitted soon with revisions.

Wow, you have a really cool style! I always try for that unfinished but gorgeously detailed look and never really achieve it! I love the combination of textures with the curls in the hair and the cross hatching in the collar of her shirt! REally beautiful work!

Hermione was actually Rowling's favourite character. I remember that from somewhere; that was how she approved of the director for the movies (the first two); because she was his favourite, too. Personally, I'm a Ron fan, but Hermione runs a close second.
I agree with you about the lips; a mote too full. And I'm actually glad you used Emma Watson as a reference at her current age, because it's the age Hermione is in the sixth book, so it helps me visualize her better in my mind. So well done.

I actually occasionally find the know-it-allness could be toned down, but I still love her. I sometimes find her more adept at heroism than Harry ^^
