I study history of art, and I had a seminar, where I had to find out the history of germanic, irish, scottish, and nordic animal patterns, which were used to dekorate books by the irish and scottish monks in the 7th century.
But I love the belt buckles and other forged items much more
And that's how I fell in love with those patterns :3
A week ago I was at a middleage-themed market, where I bought a pendant with an animal on it in germanic animal-style. I love it soo much ^^ There I found some belt buckles too, which were copies of original items of the middle ages..It was just wonderful to see, that there are still some people who appreciate this kind of art..I kind of have enough of all that digitalized stuff...It's just something else to have a brush or other tools in your hand, if you know what I mean.ย

thank you so much

Oh wow, that must have been amazing!
Same here, my mum and I both love the old Celtic kind of designs.... belt buckles and other included xD
That must have been brilliant to see!! I'd have loved to be there. I love all the old metal carvings and designs- the people of the middle age did have some style!ย
Wow! Sounds like an awesome bracelet!
Yeah, it's such a shame that people don't appreciate some of the older ways of drawing and designing. Celtic patterns are highly underrated!
I don't mind digital work, but I do appreciate traditional work a little more....

No worries ย
