I really need to get back to watching that series... but those first few low-production episodes were really off-putting to me, and the story wasn't shaping up quite how I liked it anyway.. *shrug*
Awesome drawing though, love the way Picard looks, although I get the feeling I would have understood the whole thing better if I'd watched more of the anime.. ._.;

Thanks dude! Its very much worth getting into past the first season, since the quality REALLY takes a step up. I guess they were trying to capture the spirit of the original show which wasn't too hot to begin with, so they left that and went their own way~

Maybe when I get through a few other series I'm watching I'll try watching their official stuff on Youtube again.. *shrug* It was just weird that they went from top-quality Gainax-style to almost fan-made-flash-video style after only three or four episodes.. ah well.
