Here she is, my character Sora, a squirrel girl~ It has been AGES since I drew her andΒ few people created really awesome pictures of her, so I really wanted to draw her myself again. Thanks for the inspiration, guys!Last time I drew her I was really bad at everything, and this time I tried to show that she's actually curvier, bustier, and a strong and independent woman. And I always drew her tail wrong which really bugged me, so I wanted to correct that, too o: And On top of that this was a good possibility to anthro-fy one of my characters instead of keeping her as a Sonic FC and to practice that anthro style a bit~ It's not perfect, but I'm working on it xD
I also realized that I really missed traditional coloring after neglecting it for a while ;o; I'm glad I did that again! Actually the coloring looked more or less okay to be until I thought it would be good to add windy stuff and use chalk for the background u3u" But otherwise it looked as if this picture lacked something.
All in all I think this looks quite alright~ uvu Even with the mistakes here and there I'm glad that I drew this ouo

At last, a pic of Sora by you. XD I wondered why I haven't seen as much of her, she's really pretty and seems like an interesting character.
Anyway, you did a nice job on this pic. I like your anthro take on her, it's a clear difference from your Sonic style, particularly around her head. The coloring's great, too. I particularly like her hair and the windy effects, even though it's a little hard to focus on the wind details. But other than that, I really like this. Hope to see more of her in the future.

For some reason I rarely draw my own characters x'D That actually saddens me a bit >.< I need to change that and draw them more often~
I want to try and leave the Sonic style and move to anthro instead o: And yes, I can see what you mean about the windy effects. Maybe that would've turned out better if I didn't decide on adding it spontaneously towards the end

I agree, this is a problem. =o You have to fix it by drawing your characters more. It has to be done.

It's strange what happens when one takes a little break from drawing, isn't it? :'D But once you get used to it again you'll surely make great progress ovo

Strange is one way of putting it. I find saying it sucks to be more accurate, though. D= I was finally starting to get the hang of drawing people by the time I finished that character design I put up a while back, but now that's gone again. Poor ability to draw people...you were so young. ;A;

I think it helps if you try to draw regularly anyway! Maybe not a full picture, btu at least a little sketch, so you don't forget everything at once ^^ That way you might even learn to sketch a bit faster or cleaner, maybe try a new thing or two out and make sure that your progress doesn't suddenly feel as if it goes backwards x'D

Funny you mention that. XD I did get myself a little notepad a while back for exactly that purpose. I carry it around in my pocket at work and doodle in it during my breaks. I think it's helped me get the hang of drawing heads, at least. I feel pretty good about my structure and feature placement, and I've even experimented a little with head shapes.

Heh, so it seems as if that notepad is fulfilling its purpose! ^^ I actually got myself one, too, for long rides on the train, but I'm too embarrassed to draw in public and end up only using it at home anyway, which is a bit of a bummer xD
And hey, you can get used to bodies, too! Maybe watching a few good tutorials gives you the right motivation eventually o:

Yeah, it did fulfill its purpose. ='D For a while, at least, until I preferred checking the internet on my phone during breaks instead. XD And it's neat that you ended up getting one too, even though you only use it at home.
As for bodies, well, I actually have been getting back into those now. Mainly because of Figure Drawing, where I have to learn everything at once. XD Except that's more realistic stuff, and I gotta find a way to take that and apply it to the style I want to go for.
